"today in the bay's" christine smith joins us. what can you tell us so far? >> i got a brief update from police and i can tell you the streets around 12th and maple are blocked off as they continue the investigation. there was an officer-involved shooting. a pittsburgh police officer was shot. the good news is he's already been treated and released from the hospital. it started around 11:30 last night. police are telling us two officers tried to contact a suspect. they are not saying what with a they were contacting him for. we can tell you they're saying he had a very long criminal history of guns and drug violations. he also had warrants out for his arrest. they're telling us when the officers tried to contact the suspect, he ran and turned around and fired at the two officers. one of the officers was hit. both of the officers including the wounded one, were able to hire back. they hit the suspect. he was taken to the hospital. he's in stable condition this morning. a 30-year-old from oakley. police say at this point they are not looking for anyone else. bu
